Unmasking the Domestic Abuser in the Church

Category: Abusers Page 2 of 29

Reviler is the biblical word for an abuser. Other words are used in Scripture to describe the evil that abusers do, but this title “reviler” gets to the heart of it. You see that little root in the word – “vil” – which reminds us of related terms like “villain,” or “villify” or, hmmm…. “vile.” A reviler is vile. Anyway, what a reviler does is to make the innocent be the villain. And they do this by accusing. Revilers are accusers and that evil is part of the very nature of the devil himself:

Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.

We Cannot Say this Enough – RASNs Believe they have the Right to Dictate What You Think

Tyrants are all about control and power. Dictators in the political realm, for example, demand to control not only what you say, but what you think. You don't have the right to hold an opinion that differs from theirs. If you do and the tyrant finds out, expect a vicious…

Why are RASNs Drawn to Churches?

2Co 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. One of the most prevalent false teachings found in local churches, "Christian" literature and "Christian" counseling is the insistence that a RASN (reviler, abuser, sociopath, narcissist) can…
